Fernando Liano has been eliminated from the WSOP Main Event, finishing in 7th place. His exit came after a high-stakes hand against Jose Aguilera, leaving him with a €6,000 payout. The decisive moment saw Liano's tournament run come to an end with no chips remaining.
The final hand began with Liano holding 1,540,000 chips, while Aguilera had 3,505,000. Liano went all-in with a pair of nines (9♦ 9♣), but Aguilera called with A♠ Q♠. The board ran A♣ 6♠ K♦ 8♥ K♠, giving Aguilera a pair of aces and kings, which secured his victory.
After the showdown, Liano's stack dropped to zero, officially eliminating him from the competition. Aguilera, meanwhile, saw his chip count rise to 5,565,000, strengthening his position in the tournament.
Liano's 7th-place finish earned him €6,000, marking the end of his run in this year's event. Aguilera now moves forward with a significant chip advantage, while Liano departs after a competitive performance.
