Federal President signs off on the debt relief plan

The current Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the Bundesrat. However, he does have a ceremonial role, presiding over the Federal Convention where the Bundesrat and the Bundestag meet to pass constitutional amendments.
