Federal Police Study concludes: Class of 2025 commences work, marking the 79th year of training in everyday duties for the BPOL-AKAD in Lübeck.

The Federal Police celebrated the graduation of 683 officers from their 79th class on August 28, 2025, at the Federal Ministry of the Interior. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Dr. Dieter Romann, President of the Federal Police Headquarters, and Ulf Strandt, President of the Federal Police Academy and head of the Federal Police Department.

Dr. Romann, in his speech, emphasized the close historical connection between the Federal Border Guard Service, the Federal Police, and the Federal Republic of Germany. He also highlighted the importance of the graduates' roles in safeguarding the country's most critical protective duties.

Ulf Strandt, in his address, urged the new officers to be prepared for the challenges of their daily work and not to be discouraged. He emphasized the need for intercultural competence in today's diverse society, a theme reflected in the conference's title, "Borders in the Mind: Unauthorized Entry and Intercultural Competence in Dialogue."

The graduation ceremony was followed by the "Blue Light Mile," an event showcasing various Federal Police units' skills, equipment, and deployment capabilities. The demonstration of service dogs with their handlers received the most attention, highlighting the integral role these animals play in the force's operations.

The three-year training program for these graduates was completed at the Federal Police Academy in Bruhl and the Federal Police Department in Lübeck, as well as in training centers and stations throughout Germany. A five-member team from the class organized the first federal student conference in Lück.

Two students from the graduating class made a significant contribution by donating stem cells for blood cancer patients. The Federal Police Orchestra Hannover performed at the graduation ceremony, adding a musical touch to the momentous occasion.
