On Friday morning, the 5th of September, 2022, two individuals were arrested by the Federal Police in separate incidents at train stations in Dortmund and Essen, Germany.

In Dortmund, a 39-year-old man from Lipstadt was taken into custody at the Central Station. The arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Dortmund in 2022 for negligent money laundering. The man had been sentenced to one year in prison by Dortmund District Court. After making several phone calls, the man's boss's mother appeared and paid the fine, allowing him to leave the station. However, the man was later taken to a detention facility.

Meanwhile, at Essen-Altenessen station, a 53-year-old woman was encountered by Federal Police patrol. The woman had an arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Essen for benefit fraud. She was sentenced to four months in prison by Essen District Court in 2019. The woman's identity was confirmed at the station.
