Federal law enforcement officers at Düsseldorf Airport detain two individuals sought by the authorities
In a series of events that took place at Düsseldorf Airport, the German Federal Police have made two significant arrests.
On August 27, 2025, a 18-year-old German national was taken into custody by the federal police. The arrest was made pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the Düsseldorf District Court in February, charging the individual with aggravated extortion and dangerous bodily harm. On the same day, a 28-year-old Turkish national was also stopped by the federal police during routine patrol at the airport. This individual was wanted by the Cologne Public Prosecutor's Office for driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident. It is worth noting that the offenses for which the Turkish national was wanted are different from those of the first individual.
Both individuals were stopped during routine patrols by the federal police at Düsseldorf Airport. The Turkish national had arrived at the airport from Tbilisi, Georgia.
