Federal Law Enforcement (ICE) encounters mishap near Celle Steine, incurring damage - Local law enforcement (Federal police) investigates and seeks eyewitness accounts

On August 29, 2025, an incident occurred on the Celle railway line in Germany that disrupted train services for several hours. The ICE 775 train encountered stones on the tracks near Celle, resulting in a reduced speed for the journey and an unscheduled stop in Isernhagen.

The Federal Police are currently investigating this incident as a dangerous interference with rail traffic. Entering railway premises is always life-threatening, and the laid stones on the tracks can become uncontrolled projectiles when run over by trains, posing a danger to both perpetrators and passersby, and causing significant property damage.

Fortunately, no passengers were injured during the incident. The perpetrators of the incident were not found at the scene, and the search for possible witnesses is ongoing. The Federal Police are seeking individuals who may have seen possible perpetrators near the railway tracks between the Fuhse canal and the street "Zum Kiebitzsee" in Celle on August 29, 2025.

Tips can be submitted to the Federal Police Inspectorate Bremen at 0421/16299-7777 or via email to [email protected]. Alternatively, tips can be sent via email to [email protected]. The Federal Police can also be followed on Twitter at @bpol_nord for updates on this and other investigations.

The incident caused a total delay of 80 minutes for 5 trains. Trains are at risk of damage or derailment due to objects on the tracks, and this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining the safety and security of our railway infrastructure.

Inquiries regarding the incident should be directed to the Federal Police Inspectorate Bremen, and the Press Spokesman for the Federal Police Inspectorate Bremen is Simon Gruhl. The official website for the Federal Police is www.bundespolizei.de.

The Federal Police urge the public to report any suspicious activity near railway tracks to ensure the safety of everyone using the railway system. By working together, we can help prevent incidents like this from happening in the future.
