Federal law enforcement agencies apprehended a wanted suspect accused of fraud and unveiled a fabricated identity document.
On August 28, 2025, a 29-year-old Turkish national was arrested at Frankfurt Airport by the Federal Police. The individual, wanted on an arrest warrant by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Aschaffenburg, was found in possession of a forged Turkish identity card, issued in the name of another person.
Nils Loeffler, responsible for public relations at the Bundespolizeidirektion Flughafen Frankfurt am Main (Federal Police Directorate at Frankfurt Airport), confirmed the arrest. The man is now also suspected of illegal residence in the Federal Republic of Germany.
During the search, indications were found that the man had previously stayed in the country illegally and was engaged in illegal employment. The 29-year-old man is also accused of purchasing an iPhone 13 with counterfeit 50-euro notes, causing approximately 500 euros in damage.
A 21-year-old Turkish woman was waiting for the suspect at the airport. She stated that she needed the forged identity card for a training contract. The woman was not arrested but is under investigation.
The arrest took place as the 29-year-old man and the 21-year-old woman were both at Frankfurt Airport on August 28, 2025. The incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat identity fraud and illegal activities at Frankfurt Airport and across the country.
