Federal authorities' successful search operation at Düsseldorf airport on Tuesday led to three arrests by the Federal Police.
In a series of arrests at Düsseldorf Airport on September 2, 2025, three individuals wanted for various offenses were apprehended by the Federal Police.
The first individual, a 27-year-old Syrian man, was wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Brunswick since May 2025 for fraud in two cases. Despite his arrest warrant, he was able to evade capture until his arrival at Düsseldorf Airport from Beirut/Lebanon. The details of his name remain undisclosed in the given information.
A 35-year-old German woman, residing in Lübeck, was wanted by the District Court of Lübeck since August 2025 for suspected theft. She failed to appear at her main hearing, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant.
Interestingly, a 43-year-old German man wanted by the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bielefeld for a violation of the Law on Ordinary Offenses was also among those arrested.
The arrests were made during border police entry controls at Düsseldorf Airport.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, a 27-year-old Syrian man was convicted in December 2024 for fraud charges from earlier in 2025. Despite his conviction, he was able to avoid serving an eleven-day custodial sentence due to paying a fine of 330 euros through a family member.
In a different turn of events, a 27-year-old woman from Lübeck was convicted in May 2023 for forgery of evidence. In January 2024, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Lübeck issued an enforcement order for asset seizure of approximately 800 euros against her. Despite the arrest warrant, she was handed over to the judicial authorities by the Federal Police after paying the amount.
These arrests serve as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to apprehend wanted individuals and maintain law and order in the country. The investigations into these cases are ongoing, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
