Federal authorities in North Rhine-Westphalia, BPOL NRW, have apprehended suspects linked to a recent rape case following an examination of video evidence. The accused individuals are currently detained for questioning.

In Dortmund, Germany, a 42-year-old German citizen from Mali has been taken into police custody on charges of rape. The incident reportedly took place on September 1st at around 21:25 at Dortmund Central Station.

According to the Federal Police, a young woman approached them on the same day to report the crime. The victim had helped the suspect purchase a train ticket around 20:30, and later that night, they were seen smoking a cigarette together. However, the suspect repeatedly asked the victim for sexual intercourse, which she refused.

The suspect, who was identified through a fingerprint scan, was found to have a ticket for a flight to Spain that evening. The Federal Police prepared reports for the relevant authorities, and the further processing of the case will be handled by the Dortmund Police.

The suspect was recognized by an officer who had secured video material from the station. This recognition occurred early in the morning on September 2nd, but the officer's name is not disclosed in the search results. Interestingly, the location of the recognition event was in Lierenfeld, Düsseldorf, where police arrested two burglars at around 5:16 a.m., following a tip from a vigilant witness who heard noises at 3:30 a.m.
