Federal authorities apprehend 33-year-old individual at Goch-Autobahn border checkpoint, orchestrated by the German Federal Police in North Rhine-Westphalia (BPOL NRW)

On the morning of August 28, 2025, a 33-year-old Polish man was transferred from Dutch authorities to the German Federal Police at the Goch-Autobahn border crossing. The handover took place on the A57 motorway.

The man was wanted for two separate offenses: driving without a license and attempting to commit a crime. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Waldshut-Tiengen sought him for the latter, while the Public Prosecutor's Office in Görlitz, branch office Bautzen, pursued him for driving without a license.

Upon his arrival, the man was taken into custody after the completion of police measures. Due to his inability to pay the fines totalling 12,000 euros (with procedural costs of 595.98 euros) or 3,000 euros (with procedural costs of 77.50 euros), he was taken into custody at the prison in Kleve by the Federal Police.
