Simon Stickelmann, a seasoned health policy advisor with a diverse background, has been appointed as the health and nursing policy spokesperson for the Free Democratic Party (FDP) parliamentary group in the German Bundestag. His appointment took effect on January 27, 2023.

Stickelmann began his career as an Intern Government Affairs & Policy Germany in the Berlin office of the healthcare corporation Johnson & Johnson. He later moved on to work as Public Affairs Manager DACH & Eastern Europe for the US medical technology company Intuitive Surgical, where he honed his skills in public affairs management in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region and Eastern Europe.

Prior to his new role, Stickelmann worked as a health policy advisor for FDP Bundestag member Katrin Helling-Plahr. His extensive experience in health policy, public affairs management, and his deep understanding of the German and European health care systems were cited as reasons for his appointment.

The FDP parliamentary group's health and nursing policy priorities include improving the quality of care, increasing accessibility, and promoting digitalization in healthcare. Stickelmann's appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to these initiatives.
