FC Bayern Munich's Basketball team has secured a new partnership with Interbetten

FC Bayern Munich, one of Germany's most successful sports clubs, has announced a new partnership with Interwetten, an established and reliable online betting and gaming brand. This three-year sponsorship, which begins in the 2022-23 season, marks Interwetten's first foray into basketball sponsorships.

The partnership includes exclusive marketing rights for FC Bayern's basketball games, with advertisements on LED advertising boards during home games at the BMW Park. This collaboration aims to promote important projects to support wheelchair basketball players, aligning with FC Bayern's commitment to social responsibility.

The basketball department of FC Bayern Munich was founded in 1946 and has a rich history. The team's first successes came in 1954 and 1955, when they won the German championship. They went on to win the national cup in 1968 and the third German championship in 2014, ending a 59-year drought without a championship title. The team's most recent achievement was winning the German Basketball Cup in 2021.

Marko Pesic, business manager of FC Bayern Munich, highlighted the importance of finding a cooperation partner with whom social goals can be achieved. He expressed his delight at having Interwetten as a partner, stating that they are pleased to have won the successful FC Bayern team from the basketball Bundesliga.

It's worth noting that FC Bayern Munich's current gambling sponsor is Betano, an international online sports betting and gaming brand. This partnership, which starts from the 2025-26 season and runs through 2027-28, marks the end of their previous decade-long deal with Tipico. Due to Germany's strict gambling advertising laws, Betano is designated as an official partner rather than a betting partner.

In addition to the cooperation with Interwetten, FC Bayern has a platinum partnership with the gambling provider Tipico, which runs until 2026. The basketball department was spun off from the main club as FC Bayern Munich Basketball GmbH in 2014. Further advertising opportunities are available for Interwetten during home and away games of the Munich team in the EuroLeague.

This new partnership with Interwetten is part of FC Bayern's broader commercial strategy to enhance its global visibility and innovation in fan engagement, aligning with Betano’s ambitions for international expansion and promoting safe, responsible gambling experiences.
