Authorities conducted extensive searches over several days - Father and Daughter on the Run by Hitchhiking
After a heated argument on Wednesday, the man, along with his daughter, vanished without a trace. The last sighting of them was approximately 25 kilometers from their point of disappearance. They were most likely picked up as hitchhikers. The authorities scrambled to find the missing pair.
Unfortunately, there was some positive news from the police on Friday evening. The father had been apprehended in Paris, thanks to witness reports. This significantly increased the chances of the little girl's safety.
Police referred to it as a "family dispute"
Since the altercation with the child's mother in Kroppenstedt, Halberstadt (Börde District), the father had taken off with the toddler. The police refrained from revealing any further details, simply labeling it a "family dispute." The man was listed as missing on Tuesday.
It's unclear whether Kiefer S. is a resident of Saxony-Anhalt or just a visitor. But one thing was certain: he didn't speak German fluently and was reliant on hitchhiking to get around.
The parents' whereabouts were lost in the neighboring town
The father and daughter were last seen in Halberstadt and the surrounding area of Klein Quenstedt, which is approximately 25 kilometers away from Kroppenstedt. Criminal Chief Inspector Nadine Sünnemann provided this information: "The man currently has no access to a vehicle and has traveled by hitchhiking."
Concerns for the safety of both individuals were growing. It was a possibility that the man might pose a threat not only to himself but also to his daughter. The police spokeswoman shared these concerns.
