Longest Flyover in Jabalpur Opens, Marking a New Era of Connectivity

In a significant development for the city of Jabalpur, the state's longest flyover has been inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. This new infrastructure project, spanning seven kilometres, is expected to transform the city's landscape and boost trade, commercial activities, and tourism.

The flyover, built at an estimated cost of INR 1,200 crore, is a testament to modern infrastructure and boasts several impressive features. One standout aspect is a 192-metre single-span cable-stayed bridge over a railway line, a first for Jabalpur. Additionally, the flyover includes three bow-string bridges, each 70 metres long and made of steel.

The new flyover aims to improve connectivity within the city, offering easier access to popular attractions such as the Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat and the Madan Mahal Fort. The reduced travel time between Madan Mahal and Damoh Naka, which was previously 40-45 minutes, is now just 6-7 minutes.

The flyover also offers community-friendly amenities. Underneath the structure, 50,000 saplings have been planted to improve greenery and air quality. Residents can enjoy a basketball court, an open gym, and a children's park, making the flyover more than just a means of transportation.

The announcement for the opening of the flyover was made by the local municipal authorities before the inauguration. The project, which took years to complete, is a significant step forward in Jabalpur's urban development.

Ten directional signboards have been installed to ease navigation for city visitors. With this new flyover, Jabalpur is poised to welcome more tourists and encourage economic growth. The city's long-awaited infrastructure upgrade is now a reality, setting a new standard for modern infrastructure in the region.
