Texas Native Preston Stout Shines on the Golfing Stage

In the world of amateur golf, Preston Stout from Richardson, Dallas, Texas, has been making waves. Currently attending Oklahoma State University, Stout has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with.

Stout's impressive career has seen him climb to a career-high position of 4th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. This ranking is a testament to his consistent performances and unwavering dedication to the sport.

One of Stout's most notable achievements was being named to the 2025 USA Walker Cup team for Cypress Point. In this prestigious event, held at the iconic Cypress Point Golf Club in Pebble Beach, California, Stout played a pivotal role in clinching victory for the U.S. team.

Before this, Stout had already made a name for himself in the golfing world, with wins at several notable tournaments. In 2022, he claimed the CT Pan Junior Championship. The following year, he won the AJGA Carolina Trace Junior. In 2025, Stout added another significant win to his record, taking the title at the Northeast Amateur Invitational at Wannamoisett Country Club in Providence, Rhode Island.

However, Stout's journey has not been without setbacks. In the 2025 US Amateur, he lost to Niall Shiels Donegan in the last-16. Despite this, he bounced back and claimed medalist honors at the same tournament.

Stout's success has not been limited to the amateur circuit. He has also made his mark on the professional scene. In his Korn Ferry Tour debut at the 2024 Veritex Bank Championship, he finished with a score of 18-under-par, earning him a respectable T22nd place.

Stout's professional debut came at the 2025 3M Open, where he unfortunately missed the cut. However, he made up for it by helping Oklahoma State University win the 2025 NCAA Division 1 championship.

In addition to his individual achievements, Stout has also represented Team USA. He was part of the team at the 2022 Junior Presidents Cup and the 2025 Walker Cup Match.

Perhaps one of Stout's most impressive achievements was winning the Byron Nelson Junior Championship for the third consecutive year in 2023. He joined Jordan Spieth as the only three-time winner of this prestigious tournament.

Stout also added another feather to his cap by winning the Big 12 Conference Men's Golf Championship in both 2024 and 2025.

As Stout prepares to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division I Men's National Championship Match Play on May 27-28, 2025, representing Oklahoma State University, it is clear that he is a golfer to watch.
