Farm fire in Ratherkämp
Fire Incident at Gardenhütte in Ratherkampstraße, Leverkusen
On the evening of May 30, 2025, a fire broke out in the street of Ratherkamp, Leverkusen, at approximately 22:15. The Fire Department Leverkusen was notified through multiple calls to the emergency number 112 and swiftly dispatched multiple teams to the scene.
Upon arrival, it was confirmed that a garden hut was on fire and it was connected to residential buildings. The fire was in the rear part of the property, making it not directly accessible. Due to this, several response sectors were set up to protect neighboring buildings from the spreading flames.
A total of 40 personnel from the Fire Department Leverkusen, along with both professional fire stations, the volunteer fire departments in Bürig and Wiesdorf, and personnel from the rescue service, were involved in the operation. During the operation, several gas cylinders were found in the annex and were retrieved and secured by the fire department.
At present, there is no public information available about who set the Gardenhütte on fire. The officials are currently investigating the matter.
