Giorgio Armani, the renowned Italian fashion designer, passed away last Thursday at the age of 91. Over the weekend, thousands paid their respects to the iconic figure in a private funeral service held at a church in Rivalta, near his birthplace Piacenza, Italy.

The burial took place privately on September 8, 2025, attended only by a small circle of close family, friends, and staff, including his life and business partner Leo Dell'Orco, his sister, nieces, and nephew. Notable attendees at the private funeral included fellow designer Donatella Versace, Fiat heir John Elkann, and composer Ludovico Einaudi.

In a touching display of remembrance, all Armani stores closed from 3:00 PM onwards for the rest of the day. A sign outside a store on Düsseldorf's Königsallee announced the store closure in memory of Giorgio Armani.
