FanDuel quietly tests online poker in three US states ahead of earnings report
FanDuel is exploring a possible move into online poker in the United States. The company has begun testing a poker platform in three states, though no official launch has been announced. Investors and players are now waiting for clues in the upcoming earnings report.
The trials are taking place in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey. These states already host regulated online poker, making them logical testing grounds. FanDuel's parent company, Flutter Entertainment, also owns PokerStars, which operates in the same markets.
FanDuel has not yet confirmed any concrete plans for a poker launch. However, industry watchers believe Flutter could use PokerStars' existing software to power a US-facing poker product under the FanDuel brand. This approach would allow the company to enter the market faster.
The upcoming Q4 2025 earnings report, due on Thursday, may offer more details. While FanDuel's main competitors—DraftKings, BetMGM, and BetRivers—already provide poker alongside sports betting, the company has stayed quiet on its own intentions. The report will cover full-year performance, which could hint at future expansion.
If FanDuel enters the poker market, it would join a crowded field of operators already active in key states. The earnings report might reveal whether the company sees poker as a priority. For now, the tests in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Jersey remain the only confirmed activity.
