Famous figures such as Sir Andy Murray and Gareth Bale are slated to participate in the 2025 BMW PGA Championship's Celebrity Pro-Am, hosting a roster of notable celebrities.
The BMW PGA Championship, one of golf's most prestigious events, is set to host a celebrity-filled Pro-Am this year. The tournament, held at the West Course at Wentworth, will see a mix of sporting greats and entertainment icons competing alongside professional golfers.
Director of the BMW PGA Championship, Darrell O'Hora, expressed his excitement about the participation of tennis Grand Slam winner, Sir Andy Murray, in the Pro-Am. Murray, who has turned his attention to golf after retiring from tennis, will join forces with other prominent figures.
Gareth Bale, the Welsh footballer who helped Wales reach the semi-finals at Euro 2016, is a regular on the Pro-AM circuit. Bale, who won five Champions League titles with Real Madrid, played at Wentworth last year with Rory McIlroy.
John Terry, a stalwart of England's defense and a five-time Premier League title winner during his time at Chelsea, will also be participating. Ben Stokes, the captain of the England Test cricket team and a notable golfer, played golf with European Ryder Cup skipper Luke Donald last year.
The football legends will be joined by Stephanie Houghton, a decorated footballer, and Tom Grennan, a pop star. Formula One personalities Lando Norris and Zak Brown will also be in attendance. Norris, a British Formula One driver and a nine-time Grand Prix winner, is known for his love of golf.
The Pro-Am, a notable event for golf fanatics and celebrities from sports and entertainment, will also feature live concerts by the British band Razorlight and singer Ella Henderson.
Golf is considered a great leveller, reducing even sporting greats to quivering nerves at the West Course at Wentworth. Last year, Spiderman actor Tom Holland was among the Hollywood stars participating in the Pro-Am.
The 2025 Celebrity Pro-Am is scheduled for September 10 and features big names such as Sir Andy Murray, Gareth Bale, and Ben Stokes. The BMW PGA Championship proper has a star-studded entry list with golfers from around the world participating. The event promises to be an exciting spectacle for golf and sports enthusiasts alike.
