Inaccurate sharing of an ancient, seemingly unrelated video from Dausa, Rajasthan, happens, incorrectly attributing it to the 'Voter Rights March' in Bihar, scheduled for 2025.

Fake claim circulates, connecting a past, disconnected video from Dausa, Rajasthan, to the 2025 'Voter Rights March' in Bihar

The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', a 16-day march covering over 1,300 km across more than 20 districts of Bihar, was launched by Rahul Gandhi on 17 August 2025 in Sasaram, Bihar. The yatra, aimed at raising awareness about voter rights, was launched against the backdrop of the Congress's accusations of "vote chori" against the Election Commission of India and the INDIA Bloc's opposition to the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar.

However, a viral video purportedly showing a massive crowd gathered to see Rahul Gandhi during the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar has been circulating online. The location of the video was traced to Agra Road, Dausa, Rajasthan, and a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video led to several social media posts dated 16 December 2022, featuring the same video.

Contrary to the claims, the video in question is confirmed to be old and unrelated to the 2025 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar. The Bharat Jodo Yatra, a separate political march, passed through Dausa, Rajasthan, on 15 December 2022, and Rahul Gandhi posted a live-stream video of the Bharat Jodo Yatra on the same day from Dausa, Rajasthan.

It is important to verify the authenticity of information before sharing it, especially during political campaigns. The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' will conclude with a rally at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on 01 September 2025. Let us continue to promote fact-checking and accurate information sharing to ensure a healthy and informed discourse.
