Factory Incident Involving Chemicals During Toilet Paper Production - Extensive Nighttime Response by the Arnsberg Fire Department

In the early hours of this morning, a chemical incident occurred at a hygiene paper manufacturer in the city of Arnsberg. The fire department, rescue service, and police responded swiftly, with a total of 80 firefighters, 8 rescue service personnel, and 20 vehicles on site.

The incident involved a container with a bleaching agent that underwent uncontrolled self-decomposition in a production area. To ensure the safety of all personnel, four operational sections were formed by the fire department: initial response/water supply, ABC response, decontamination, and medical rescue.

A team in chemical protective suits (CSA) explored the building, and all potentially exposed persons were examined by the rescue service. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, but a colleague reported minor breathing difficulties and was taken to the hospital for further examination.

The symptoms of the colleague were taken seriously immediately, and a decontamination site was set up and put on standby. The affected container was taken to a designated decontamination area.

Despite the incident, production continued, with only the affected area temporarily out of operation. The operation was successfully concluded around 05:00.

It is important to note that the search results do not specify the name of a person who suffered mild shortness of breath after surgery and was hospitalized. However, the quick and effective response of the emergency services ensured the safety of all personnel involved.
