Extended MG3 Supermini Warranty Offer Now Provides Coverage for 5 Years
The British automotive brand MG Motor, a subsidiary of the Chinese company SAIC Motor, is set to unveil a new version of the MG3 Supermini in early 2023. This compact car, which first made its appearance in 2013, has been a popular choice for budget-conscious motorists in the UK.
With a starting price of £8,695, the MG3 Supermini has been a reliable and affordable option for commuting and shopping. Despite its basic and old-fashioned design, it boasts an acceptable spec and a decent look.
To increase its appeal, MG Motor is introducing a new 5-year/60,000-mile warranty for the MG3 Supermini in the UK. This upgrade from the previous 3-year warranty is expected to help underpin residual values for the MG3, making it an even more attractive proposition for car buyers.
The new warranty is not the only change for the MG3 Supermini. In 2016, the car received an EU6 engine and additional personalization options, making it a more modern and customizable choice.
The MG3 Supermini competes with the Dacia Sandero, another budget-friendly compact car, both starting at £8,695. However, the MG3 Supermini, despite its low price, may not be as expensive as an Audi R8, offering a more affordable alternative for those seeking a reliable and affordable vehicle.
Since its introduction in 2013, around 10,000 units of the MG3 Supermini have been sold, indicating a demand for budget motoring. The MG range is set to expand in 2023 with the addition of the new MG3 Supermini.
In preparation for the new version, the new MG3 Supermini was caught testing in Spain ahead of a UK launch. The exact details of the new model are still under wraps, but it is anticipated that it will build upon the success of its predecessor.
MG Motor is also offering cut-price customization packs for the New Year, including graphics, coloured mirrors, and interior packs for £295. These options allow buyers to personalize their MG3 Supermini to their liking.
Despite the new version, some argue that the MG3 Supermini isn't exactly what one would think of as an MG. However, its reliability, affordability, and growing popularity in the UK suggest that it is a worthy addition to the MG brand.
Stay tuned for more updates on the new MG3 Supermini, which is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show on 26 February.
