StandardAero, a leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft engines and auxiliary power units (APUs), has celebrated the grand opening of its expanded business aviation facility at Augusta Regional Airport in Georgia.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by executives, local and state officials, customers, and employees, marking a significant milestone in the company's growth. The Augusta facility, founded in 1974, specializes in comprehensive maintenance and repair support across a range of aircraft platforms, including the Honeywell HTF7000, TFE731, and GTCP36 APU.

The expansion represents a 60% increase in the size of the Augusta site, adding 80,500 ft² of space. The project, which strengthens StandardAero's ability to provide Honeywell HTF7000 engine MRO services, includes hangar facilities, an engine shop, advanced avionics, and improved customer amenities.

The purpose-built engine shop, designed to support the growing demand for HTF7000 MRO services, is scheduled to be fully operational by the first half of 2026. The engine shop expansion is a strategic move to meet the increasing demand for these services, particularly in the business aviation sector.

StandardAero currently employs around 175 people at its Augusta facility, and the expansion is expected to create new career opportunities for technicians, engineers, and support staff in the Augusta area. The facility now offers expanded airframe services for large cabin business jets, with airframe maintenance work already commencing in the new hangar.

The expanded facility increases StandardAero's capacity to serve business aviation operators across North America and globally. As the sole independent provider licensed by the OEM for heavy overhauls of Honeywell HTF7000 engines, StandardAero remains committed to delivering high-quality, efficient, and reliable services to its customers.

Gulfstream Aerospace officially opened its newly expanded business jet maintenance center at Augusta Regional Airport in Georgia, and the facility is expected to be fully operational in 2024. The grand opening event provided guests with an insight into the site's enhanced capabilities, further solidifying StandardAero's position as a leading player in the business aviation MRO market.
