Expanding its reach in major urban areas, TRULiV, the shared housing venture, aims to double its revenue in the fiscal year 2026.
TRULiV, a Chennai-based co-living start-up, has announced its plans for expansion in the Indian market. After securing a $1.8 million funding in 2023, the company aims to achieve revenues of ₹60 crore in FY26.
Rohit Reddy, Co-Founder and CEO of TRULiV, attributes the company's success to its focus on real estate and hospitality. Over the next 12-18 months, TRULiV expects around 7,000 beds to become operational across Pune, Hyderabad, and other cities.
TRULiV follows a build-to-suit model, remaining asset light while having control over the size, design, and location of properties. The company ties up with builders who develop properties according to its needs and sells them to retail investors. Once sold, TRULiV leases back the properties from the investors, providing them with a rental guarantee.
In FY25, TRULiV posted a net profit of ₹13 lakh, a significant improvement from a ₹3.4 crore loss in the previous fiscal. The company's revenue increased by 108% to ₹32 crore in FY25.
Currently, TRULiV operates about 40 properties with 3,000 beds in Chennai and 1,000 in Bengaluru. In addition to its co-living business, TRULiV operates nine villas in the holiday homes segment, with three more in the pipeline. The company also plans to enter the student accommodation business within the next two years.
Rohit Reddy announced that the company Life Spaces is planning to open around 7,000 beds for co-living and housing businesses in Pune, Hyderabad, and other cities within the next 12-18 months. This expansion will add around 4,000 beds in Pune and 500 in Hyderabad, bringing the total operational beds to approximately 7,000 across these cities.
TRULiV's expansion is a testament to its success and growth in the Indian co-living and alternative hospitality sector. The company has become the first profitable player in this sector, setting a new standard for co-living businesses in India.
