Expanded Nintendo Switch Online membership features poised for release

The Nintendo Switch Online service has just leveled up, introducing the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. This new tier offers a plethora of exciting features, including access to a library of classic Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis games, online play for up to 4 players, and exclusive matches in Tetris 99.

To enjoy these new offerings, a few prerequisites are necessary. You'll need a compatible smartphone, a Nintendo Account age 13+, and persistently connected internet. A Nintendo Account is essential for accessing the membership, and data charges may apply for some online features.

With a Nintendo Switch Online membership in hand, you can purchase full-size wireless Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis controllers, designed for modern use with systems like Nintendo Switch, PC, and others. These controllers are available commercially, thanks to the collaboration between Nintendo and 8BitDo, and retro Sega Genesis controllers are also included in the lineup.

Online play is available for some favourite games, and voice chat can be facilitated through the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app. Additionally, Save Data Cloud and smartphone app features are available in compatible games.

Please note that the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership must be purchased separately and is not available in all countries. Not all countries have access to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership or the Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online collections of games.
