MTS Expands High-Speed Mobile Internet Coverage in Yakutia

In a significant development for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), mobile network operator MTS has expanded its LTE coverage, bringing high-speed mobile internet to several remote and populated areas across the region.

The director of MTS in Yakutia, Prokopy Neustruev, commented on the expansion, stating that the move is part of MTS's ongoing commitment to eliminating the digital divide and ensuring that all residents, regardless of location, have access to digital services.

The expansion has seen MTS's network appear in villages with populations of around 300 people, such as Luxyugun in Kobayatsky District, Edey in Nюrbinsky District, and Daban in Olekminsky District, among others. This means that drivers passing through these villages can now use navigation services, and residents can access government services, medical institutions, educational institutions, and online banking.

The five administrative districts in Yakutia where MTS has expanded LTE coverage are Namsky, Megino-Kangalassky, Khangalassky, Ust-Aldansky, and Churapchinsky. The high-speed mobile internet is also available on the regional highway "Luchinskaya" in Luxyugun, Kobayatsky District, and through the federal highway A-331 "Vilyui" in Edey, Nюrbinsky District.

With this expansion, nearly 1,600 rural residents in Yakutia can now use high-speed digital services. This development is expected to boost agriculture, education, and tourism in the covered villages, making them more connected and accessible to the rest of the world.

MTS continues to participate in the project to eliminate the digital divide in Yakutia and cover remote populated areas with high-speed mobile internet. The company's efforts have also resulted in five small populated areas in Yakutia now having mobile connectivity from MTS, including Sereg-Bes in Amginsky District and the village of Ergalekh in Namsky District.

This expansion of high-speed mobile internet coverage in Yakutia is a significant step forward in connecting remote communities and improving access to essential services, education, and opportunities for development.
