The city of Schwäbisch Hall is gearing up for a unique and educational event, as the "Genuine Fake" exhibition from the German Customs Museum makes its way to the region. The exhibition, which will be opened on September 23, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Schwäbisch Hall's municipal building, aims to raise awareness about the problem of fake products in the age of online shopping.

The exhibition runs until October 6, 2024, and is a collaboration between the German Customs Museum and the "Central Office for the Protection of Intellectual Property." It will showcase a variety of counterfeit products, including everyday items like sportswear, sunglasses, and perfumes, as well as more unusual items like chainsaws and construction foam.

Thomas Wahl, deputy head of the Main Customs Office Heilbronn, expressed his pleasure about bringing the exhibition to the region and making it accessible to the local public. "We are proud to bring this important exhibition to Schwäbisch Hall," said Wahl. "The issue of counterfeit products is unfortunately not unfamiliar to our region, which is home to many world market leaders and emerging 'hidden champions.'"

The exhibition also highlights the negative impacts on the economy and local job market due to counterfeit products. Lack of warranty claims can cause dissatisfaction and result in financial losses, while the purchase of counterfeit or fake products can be dangerous to one's health.

In addition to the exhibition, the city of Schwäbisch Hall is hosting the "Blue Light Mile" as part of the Haller Herbst on October 6, 2024, in the city center. The "Blue Light Mile" will offer interactive activities for all ages, as well as presentations of vehicles and equipment by fire brigade, federal police, German Red Cross, and other services.

The exhibition will be open Monday to Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. On weekends, the exhibition can only be viewed on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
