Novorossiysk, a city known for its wine production, is currently in the midst of its annual grape harvesting season. Major wine producers in the region, including Kuban-Vino and Abrau-Durso, are gearing up for a bountiful harvest, with an estimated total of 11,000 tons of grapes to be gathered by the end of 2024.

The harvesting process began earlier this year, with Abrau-Dyurso leading the way. Varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Saperavi, Krasnostop, and even the prized Chardonnay are being carefully picked to produce a wide range of wines. The Chardonnay grapes, known for their role in sparkling wines, have also ripened this year.

Despite the dry summer, the quality of the crop is satisfactory for wine producers. This year's harvest is being carried out manually to preserve the grapes' integrity and taste, ensuring the production of wines with a unique terroir that Novorossiysk is renowned for.

The grapes are being harvested in various wine-producing estates across the city, and the campaign is expected to continue until October. The press service of the city administration reported this information, stating that there are still months of hard work ahead.

These wines, once produced, will join the ranks of Novorossiysk's esteemed vintages, contributing to the city's reputation as a hub for quality wine production in Russia. The harvesting season in Novorossiysk is always an exciting time, and this year promises to be no exception.
