"Exaggerated Demand for Waste Disposal in Obernau"
In the district of Obernau, citizens are being advised to exercise caution regarding a scheduled waste collection on July 17, starting at 7 AM. The Environmental and Consumer Protection Office has warned that this collection is not permitted due to the lack of required notification.
According to the office, the collection in question does not have permission from the appropriate authorities. The false call for a collection was made by an unknown person, and the collection is therefore unauthorized. The waste collection includes items like cars, bicycles, and electrical devices.
The General Manager of the Environmental and Consumer Protection Office, Mr. Schmidt, has stated, "We urge citizens not to place any items on the street for this collection. Participating in an unauthorized collection may lead to the removal of waste at the expense of the general public, and it is not verified whether the collected waste will be disposed of properly and without harm."
Suspicious collection vehicles can be reported to the police on the emergency number 110. Residents are also encouraged to contact the Environmental and Consumer Protection Office at 06021 / 330-1576 for questions or tips.
Flyers for the waste collection have been distributed in the district of Obernau, possibly in other districts as well. The city of Aschaffenburg advises citizens to ignore collection appeals and to wait for official announcements from the authorities.
It is important to note that the general collection of old vehicles and electrical devices is prohibited without the necessary permits. Unsuitable items may be left on the street after the collection, and waste sorted out later may be disposed of on parking lots or open landscapes.
Residents of Obernau and potentially other districts should be cautious about participating in this waste collection. Mr. Schmidt encourages everyone to "do their part in protecting the environment and ensuring the safety of our community by only participating in authorized waste collections."
