Ex-Mayor of New York, Giuliani, hospitalized following an accident.
In a surprising turn of events, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani was involved in a car accident in the U.S. state of New Hampshire over the weekend. According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday evening (local time), but the exact location remains undisclosed.
The description of the incident comes from Giuliani's spokesperson, who stated that the former mayor was traveling on a highway when a car hit him from behind at high speed. The accident occurred shortly after Giuliani, aged 81, had stopped to assist a woman on the side of the road.
The woman, who was a victim of domestic violence, had signaled Giuliani to stop. He promptly helped her and called the emergency services. Unfortunately, the name of the woman has not been disclosed in the reported information.
Following the accident, Giuliani was taken to a hospital. However, no further information about his injuries has been provided. It is known that he suffered fractured thoracic vertebra, lacerations, arm and lower leg injuries, and contusions.
Giuliani served as Mayor of New York from 1994 to the end of 2001 and was a close associate of U.S. President Donald Trump. After Trump's election defeat in 2020, Giuliani remained loyal to the Republican, vehemently fighting against alleged voter fraud.
Despite the allegations, there was no evidence to support the claims of voter fraud that Giuliani fought against. The incident on the highway is not believed to be a targeted attack.
The car accident is currently under investigation, and more details are expected to be released in due course. Our thoughts are with Giuliani and the woman who was assisted by him during the incident.
