Ex-Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, hastens to the hospital following a vehicular collision causing injuries.

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City and a prominent figure in U.S. politics, was taken to a hospital following a car crash in New Hampshire on Saturday evening. According to reports, the accident occurred on a highway near Manchester.

Giuliani's head of security, Michael Ragusa, confirmed that the crash was random and unrelated to any domestic violence incident that Giuliani may have encountered earlier. Ragusa also stated that the accident was not a targeted attack.

Giuliani was in a rental car at the time of the accident and suffered serious injuries, including a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, injuries to his left arm and lower leg. He is expected to be released from the hospital in a few days.

The accident came at a time when Giuliani has been embroiled in legal battles. This winter, he faced a trial over the ownership of some of his assets due to claims of contempt of court. He also worked as a lawyer for Donald Trump in his failed efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, a role he emerged into in 2018.

Rudy Giuliani's son, Andrew Giuliani, thanked people for their prayers and support after hearing about his father's accident. The former mayor was once dubbed "America's mayor" due to his leadership in New York after the 9/11 attacks in 2001.

In a strange turn of events, Giuliani had been flagged down by a woman who was a victim of a domestic violence incident and contacted police on her behalf before the crash. However, the incident was not related to the car accident.

Throughout his career, Giuliani has been a controversial figure. In 2008, he was in the running to be the Republican presidential candidate but missed out and eventually endorsed John McCain. He also supported Donald Trump's allegations of fraud in the 2020 election.

Recently, Giuliani and two Georgia election workers successfully sued each other for defamation. The women will receive unspecified compensation and a promise from Giuliani to stop speaking ill of them. Giuliani and his legal team ultimately struck a deal, allowing him to keep his homes and various high-value belongings.

As Giuliani recovers from his injuries, the nation hopes for his speedy recovery and a return to public life.
