Evolution debuts Ezugi with new live dealer games in New Jersey
Evolution has launched Ezugi as its second live dealer brand in the United States, starting in New Jersey. The move expands the company's game offerings beyond its flagship products. Two new titles, EZ Baccarat and Ultimate Auto Roulette, are now available to players.
The brand's debut aligns with Evolution's strategy to provide both high-energy game shows and traditional casino experiences. Ezugi's games are designed to attract different types of players, from those seeking fast-paced action to fans of classic table formats.
EZ Baccarat introduces two exclusive side bets: Panda 8 and Dragon 7. These options cater to experienced players looking for quicker rounds and alternative wagering styles. Meanwhile, Ultimate Auto Roulette immerses players in a circus-themed setting, powered by Evolution's One Stop Shop (OSS) platform for seamless integration.
Ezugi's initial rollout is supported by live streaming from Evolution's studio in Atlantic City. The brand plans to expand its U.S. catalogue soon, with titles like Ultimate Roulette and 000 Roulette—both tailored for markets where triple-zero roulette remains popular. A non-traditional offering, Marble Race, will also debut, using random number generation (RNG) to simulate a live marble race.
The expansion comes as Evolution aims to strengthen its position against new competitors. By offering two distinct brands, the company provides operators with more customisation and varied content. This dual-brand approach helps defend its market share while meeting different player preferences.
However, in the 27 U.S. states without iGaming regulation as of 2026, operators face significant hurdles. To launch Ezugi or Evolution games, they must first secure legislative approval for online gambling laws. Additional steps include obtaining state gaming licences, implementing geofencing to restrict play to in-state residents, and enforcing strict age and ID verification.
Banking partnerships present another challenge due to federal restrictions under the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA). Operators must also comply with anti-money laundering rules under the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Further complications arise from multi-year legislative processes, potential vetoes by tribal casinos, and varying interpretations of sweepstakes or social gambling models by state attorneys general.
Ezugi's U.S. launch marks Evolution's push to diversify its live dealer offerings. The brand's mix of traditional and innovative games targets a wider audience. Operators in regulated states can now access more tailored content, while those in unregulated markets must navigate complex legal and technical requirements before offering these products.
