Every Sunday, both the antiquated Bus Museum and the associated Old Bus Association are accessible to visitors.

The Dresden Tram Museum, located at Trachenberger Straße 38, is preparing for a Special Opening Day on July 13, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00. This unique museum offers visitors a chance to step back in time and examine the witnesses of Dresden's public transport history.

Founded on June 2, 1992, the museum has grown significantly over the years. The number of its members has expanded from the initial 15 to around 170, all dedicated to preserving and showcasing the city's rich transport history.

The museum's fleet consists of 19 motor cars and maintenance vehicles, and 22 trailer cars and trailers. These oldie buses regularly draw attention in the state capital as they roll through the streets, offering a glimpse into the past.

Admission to the museum is five euros for adults and three euros for children aged 6 to 14. A family ticket for two adults and up to four children is twelve euros. All income from admission, round trips, or special trips is used to preserve the historic vehicles.

The museum's historic vehicles are largely roadworthy due to countless hours of volunteer work. The Verein historische Kraftfahrzeuge des Dresdner Nahverkehrs, which operates with member volunteers, is instrumental in maintaining these vehicles.

One of the highlights of the Special Opening Day will be numerous special trips with historic trams and buses. Visitors can take a ride on the "Berolina Train", Dresden's oldest still licensed tram, which will offer mini-tours from the museum from 10:45 to 16:15.

In addition to the museum, the Oldie Bus Association will also open its doors on this day. For those looking to refuel, the museum café "Sliding Stage" offers sweet or hearty treats from its own kitchen.

Sandrina Sperlich, likely involved with the museum in a role related to its operation, curation, or promotion, invites everyone to come and experience the rich history of Dresden's public transport.
