Event revival in Au-Haidhausen - Essential Conditions for Cultural Days Celebration
The Au-Haidhausen district of Munich is set to come alive with a vibrant celebration of culture, as the much-anticipated Culture Days return from September 19 to September 28. This event, a significant part of urban life according to BA member Jessica Fuhrmann, aims to contribute to a diverse and thriving neighbourhood society.
The Culture Days kick off on September 19 with a concert at 4 p.m. on the main stage at Weißenburger Platz. The musical lineup for the event is diverse, featuring a range of styles from quirky guitar sounds to pop, soul, funk, jazz, and even a tribute to the Beatles.
The program for the Culture Days has been curated by Jessica Fuhrmann (Greens) and her faction colleague Franz Klug. Over 30 events are planned, with a wide range of topics covered, including music, photography, and literature.
One of the highlights of the program is the performance by New York artist and composer Elliott Sharp, who will take the stage twice during the Culture Days, on September 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Galerie Artoxin.
Photographer Heike Bogenberger and author Gunna Wendt will also present their collaboration, "72 Bilder," on Saturday, September 27, at 5 p.m. at Weißenburger Platz.
Other events during the Culture Days will take place at HochX, the Literature Bureau, the evangelical Johanneskirche, Bordeaux, Mariahilfplatz, and other locations. The finale of the Culture Days takes place at the Haidhausen Museum, Kirchenstraße 24, on September 28 at 2 p.m.
Admission to all events is always free, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone. The entire program of the Culture Days Au-Haidhausen can be found on the BA's website.
The Culture Days in Au-Haidhausen are funded with a subsidy of 12,000 euros, ensuring a rich and varied program for all to enjoy. So, mark your calendars and get ready to immerse yourself in a week-long celebration of culture in the heart of Munich.
