European Union's executive branch, the European Commission, introduced a novel strategy aimed at enhancing the livelihood across member states.
The Crime Prevention Association of Gießen is inviting everyone to participate in the 2026 Crime Prevention Award, a prestigious event aimed at recognising efforts against crime and violence in the community. This will be the second time the association has organised such an event, following the successful inaugural event in 2024.
The award is open to individuals and groups working in various sectors, such as schools, youth, neighbourhoods, associations, elderly care, and sports. Projects focused on protecting against crime are particularly encouraged. Nominations by third parties are also possible.
The jury for the award includes high-ranking members such as Landratin Anita Schneider and Mayor Frank-Tilo Becher. The award is supported by the district of Gießen, the city of Gießen, the Police Presidency of Central Hesse, and the State School Office.
The 2026 award is endowed with 1500 €. To apply, a brief description of the project, not exceeding one A4 page, is sufficient. Applications and nominations can be sent via email to info@kriminalpraevention-our website.
The deadline for applications from individuals and groups is December 31, 2025. The award aims to highlight the actions taken in the region and showcase the positive impact they have on the community.
