Westenergie Climate Protection Prize 2025 in Essen: Showcase Your Climate-Friendly Projects
The Westenergie Climate Protection Prize 2025 is now open for submissions in Essen, Germany. This prestigious award, which has been given annually since 1995, aims to recognise and celebrate good initiatives and exemplary actions from local areas that contribute to climate protection.
Interested parties, including individual citizens, associations, institutions, and companies in Essen, are invited to submit their climate-friendly projects by September 14. Projects can be in the implementation phase or already completed.
The prize, which is endowed with up to 5,000 Euros in total, depending on the size of the municipality, will be awarded at an official ceremony in December. The winning projects will not only receive prize money of up to 2,500 Euros but will also gain valuable recognition for their efforts in promoting climate protection.
A jury consisting of representatives from the Essen city administration and Westenergie will determine the winning projects. Over the years, more than 8,000 projects have already received the Westenergie Climate Protection Prize.
