That works in Dortmund's favor... - European Championship departure's implications for BVB

In spite of Sancho's departure from the European Championships, BVB is still aiming to retain his services. Although he is still contracted to Manchester United until 2026, the German club is seeking a further arrangement. Their preferred choice is a new loan deal.

Dortmund's officials are intending to hold discussions with Man United immediately after the Wembley final. The advantage here is that Sancho has hinted at his willingness to remain in Dortmund, potentially putting any thoughts of returning to Manchester on hold. However, it has been suggested that Man United might be inclined to sell him.

The rumors report that United may demand around 65 million euros in transfer fees from BVB. However, Sancho's absence from the European Championships may work in BVB's favor, as he wouldn't have the opportunity to boost his value with notable performances on the European stage. The cause of Sancho's Euro withdrawal was due to his perceived carelessness during training, and an ensuing suspension after being accused of attending a birthday party in breach of COVID-19 protocols. Furthermore, tensions have also existed between Sancho, Southgate, and the latter's successor as Man United manager, Erik ten Hag.
