Euro advocacy initiative unveiled, aiming to boost euro usage within the eurozone.

UniCredit, a leading European commercial bank, is set to revolutionize its securities services with the announcement of strategic partnerships with BNP Paribas and FNZ. These partnerships aim to standardize processes and service providers across borders, providing a secure, flexible, and cost-efficient foundation for UniCredit's custody services.

Gianfranco Bisagni, Group Chief Operating Officer at UniCredit, expressed his confidence that these partnerships will enable UniCredit's customers to act more agile and effectively, setting new benchmarks for customer-centric securities services in Germany and Europe.

At the heart of these partnerships is FNZ Technology, which will streamline UniCredit's processes for its custody business in Germany. A new back-office and digital team will work with FNZ to build a leading post-trade securities platform for UniCredit in Germany. This platform will be entirely based in-house at UniCredit, creating over 140 new jobs in Germany.

In addition, over 60 jobs are expected to be created in Italy due to these partnerships. UniCredit has also created 25 additional positions in the digital team across Italy, Germany, and Poland.

Marion Höllinger, CEO of the HypoVereinsbank brand belonging to UniCredit, emphasized that UniCredit is making a strategic investment in one of its key product areas. As the CEO of HypoVereinsbank Germany, a UniCredit-owned bank, Marion is leading strategic investments and digital transformation initiatives within the securities services area as of 2025.

UniCredit is internalizing central areas of the value chain in its securities business. BNP Paribas will support UniCredit as a partner for custody services in Italy, Germany, and Luxembourg. The bank is confident that these partnerships have created the best possible basis for its transformation process.

A cross-functional project team is already working on the implementation of the partnerships. By leveraging FNZ's technology, UniCredit will significantly streamline its processes and provide a seamless service to its customers.

With these partnerships, UniCredit is well-positioned to deliver integrated, efficient, and future-proof services, setting a new standard for securities services in Europe.
