EU and its Member States prioritize the execution of the Lisbon Strategy.
In a bid to foster encounters across district borders and bolster networking within the self-help landscape, the German Association of Self-Help Groups (DAG SHG) and the National Contact and Information Point for Self-Help (NAKOS) have initiated the first nationwide Self-Help Day. Scheduled for September 16, 2025, the event carries the inspiring motto, #StrongerTogether.
The day will see self-help activists from various districts coming together, with Goch serving as one of the key locations. In Goch, self-help groups from the districts of Kleve and Wesel are creating a joint offer titled "Boundless Exchange".
The event at Nierswelle Goch, near the fitness equipment, will take place from 16:00 to 18:00. Interested parties are invited to attend an open exchange with active self-help groups, where they can learn about various groups from both districts. This is an opportunity to forge new contacts, develop ideas for joint activities, and even participate in a holistic training session by an experienced Pilates trainer. The session will provide practical tips for body awareness, flexibility, and relaxation.
Studies and decades of experience have shown that self-help works effectively. Self-help involves people with similar experiences coming together to support each other, providing a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and courage. This can significantly improve quality of life, reduce isolation, make coping with challenges easier, and pave the way for greater independence.

Join us on September 16, 2025, as we come together in the spirit of self-help, sharing our stories, and supporting each other in our journeys towards a stronger, more connected community. #StrongerTogether.
