Establishing his initial Spanish subsidiary in A Coruña, he subsequently signs on Inditex's top talent.

In a strategic move, the British distribution giant Next has established its first subsidiary in Spain, named Ginkgo Kalone Investments. This expansion marks a significant location for Inditex's birthplace, A Coruña.

Ginkgo Kalone Investments, based in Canton Pequeno, Spain, has poached executives from Inditex, the company founded by Amancio Ortega. Caroline Tello, a former Inditex executive with over 11 years of service, has been appointed as a representative for Ginkgo Kalone Investments. Another former Inditex executive, Gabino Felgueroso with over 7 years of service, has also been appointed.

Next, originally a men's tailor shop named J. Hepworth & Son, founded in 1864 in Leeds, UK, was renamed Next in 1982 following the acquisition of Kendall & Sons (dedicated to women's fashion). Today, the company operates a network of 457 stores across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with a significant stock market capitalization close to 15,000 million pounds (over 17 million euros).

The company's last fiscal year closed with sales of 7,306 million euros, a testament to its growth and success. However, the company's profit fell by 8.3% to 851 million euros in the same period.

Notably, Next acquired Seraphine, the historic maternity fashion company, out of administration this summer. The founder of the company that established Next in Spain is not explicitly stated, but the company Nextbike GmbH, which operates the Next system, was founded in 2004 in Germany.

Next has a range of brands including Reiss, JoJo, Maman Bébé, Cath Kidston, Made.com, Joules, or FatFace. More than half of Next's sales came from the online channel, reflecting the company's commitment to digital transformation.

The company employs 45,000 workers, primarily in the UK. Gabino Felgueroso, who previously worked at Zara, is also associated with Next, adding a wealth of fashion industry experience to the company's leadership.

This expansion into Spain is a significant step for Next, as it continues to grow and adapt in the competitive retail landscape.
