Essential Hygiene Items for Underprivileged Adolescents

Rotaract Germany, a youth wing of Rotary International, has launched a national social action aimed at addressing the issue of period poverty. The initiative, centred around the theme of social justice for women and girls, is a meaningful idea that seeks to raise awareness and provide solutions to a problem that has a significant impact on the lives of these individuals.

The focus of this campaign is on the affordability of menstrual products, a concern that has been identified as a barrier to education and participation for many women and girls. Rotaract President Stephanie Müller presented boxes containing products to support socially disadvantaged youth to MoJA employees Julian Napf and Verena Zupanc.

MoJA, an organisation that has young visitors, has expressed its gratitude for Rotaract's social commitment. In response, MoJA has pledged to make these products available free of charge to its young visitors as needed. This move is expected to help alleviate the burden of period poverty for many girls and women.
