Erdogan Celebrates Victory Day as a Symbol of Turkey's Independence Sovereignty

On August 30, Turkey commemorated the anniversary of its great victory in 1922, a day known as Victory Day (Zafer Bayramı). This significant day marks the end of the Turkish War of Independence and the decisive victory in the Battle of Dumlupinar.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared that this victory was not just a military success but a turning point in the nation's history. He emphasised that it marked Türkiye's existential struggle and eternal independence, breaking the "chains of captivity" and paving the way for the foundation of the Republic.
