Football: News and Updates - Environmental-friendly toilets at the DFB Cup final in Berlin
Approximately 70,000 spectators attending the DFB Cup final in Berlin will have their waste transformed into fertilizer. To achieve this, four sets of eco-sanitary facilities, each consisting of ten units, will be stationed around the Olympic Stadium on Saturday night. This initiative is part of a larger environmental effort being spearheaded by the German Football Association for the match between German champions Bayer Leverkusen and second division team 1. FC Kaiserslautern (8:00 PM/ARD and Sky).
This fan gathering at the stadium has been designated a "sustainability zone". The DFB intends to donate or recycle any leftover food from the event. In addition, a vegetarian sausage costs one euro less than a meat option, with the association financially supporting this choice. Furthermore, the DFB established a carpooling platform to facilitate eco-friendly transportation for the event's attendees.
