In a move to enhance connectivity, Deutsche Telekom AG has expanded its mobile network coverage across the Rotenburg (Wümme) District in Germany. The expansion, which includes the addition of three LTE and one 5G antenna sites, aims to improve mobile internet coverage in the district to 96%.

With over 84 mobile network sites currently operating in the district, Telekom plans to add an additional site within the next three years. This expansion is part of a larger strategy to maintain the mobile network expansion pace and address the increasing bandwidth demand, which is growing by around 30% per year, as stated by Deutsche Telekom spokesperson, Stefanie Halle.

Improvements have been made along the Hamburg-Bremen railway line, ensuring better coverage for travellers and residents in the area. One of the upcoming sites will be located in the municipality of Bothel, further enhancing coverage in the district.

Deutsche Telekom's mobile network has been recognised as the best in Germany by specialist magazines Chip, connect, ComputerBild, and Imtest. The network supports Advanced Mobile Location (AML) emergency technology and the Cell Broadcast warning system, ensuring that emergency calls and warnings are possible at all new and modernized sites in Rotenburg (Wümme) District.

In case of emergencies, AML automatically transmits the caller's location to the emergency control center during 112 calls, while Cell Broadcast sends danger alerts to mobile phones in the affected cell, such as in case of large fires, gas explosions, or floods.
