Enhancing Experiment Optimization Through JMP: Insight from GSK's Approach

In the realm of scientific exploration and discovery, two informative webinars sponsored by JMP are set to enlighten participants. The first webinar, titled "Lost in space, found in data: real-world scientific exploration and discovery," promises a fascinating journey into the world of data-driven scientific advancements. The second webinar, "Speed up process development by making more from your offline and online data," delves specifically into the application of Design-of-Experiments (DoE) methodology.

JMP's Design-of-Experiments (DoE) methodology, developed by John Sall and colleagues at SAS Institute, has been instrumental in accelerating the development of new drugs and robust production processes. This powerful tool can optimise chemical reactions by identifying factors that influence the reaction, providing efficient insights for various chemical applications.

Robert Anderson, JMP Senior Statistical Consultant at SAS, with over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, is an expert in DoE. He has led Six Sigma improvement programs in various companies and delivered training on statistical methods and DoE. Robert has also worked as a senior yield management consultant for a large semiconductor equipment and service provider, mentoring engineers in process improvement, defect reduction, and yield improvement methodologies.

Gill Turner, Quality by Design Lead and development chemist at GSK, brings a rich background in organic chemistry and a PhD in oligonucleotide synthesis to the table. Prior to her current role, Gill worked as a synthetic chemist in process development and specialised in automation and DoE. She will demonstrate how DoE can be used to speed up process development during the webinar.

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has successfully implemented a DoE methodology using JMP to accelerate the development of new drugs and robust production processes. This success story underscores the potential of DoE in aiding in increasing yield, decreasing impurities, and designing reproducible processes.

In addition to these webinars, JMP is also sponsoring another event titled "Building organizational consensus around the tools of digital chemistry."

JMP has been a part of SAS since the first version of JMP statistical discovery software was launched in 1989. SAS is the leader in business analytics software and services and the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market.

Before joining the Royal Society of Chemistry, Benjamin Valsler was the producer of the award-winning Naked Scientists, making local and national radio programs for the BBC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and Primedia in South Africa. Currently, Benjamin is the digital editor of a website magazine, producing video and podcasts to accompany the magazine and website.

These webinars offer a unique opportunity to learn from industry experts and gain insights into how Design-of-Experiments can revolutionise process development in various industries. Don't miss out on this chance to accelerate your scientific exploration and discovery!
