Enhancements in road safety planned for A494 section close to Clwyd Gate
Welsh Government Announces £1bn Road Improvement Investment
The Welsh Government has announced a significant investment of £1bn towards fixing and improving roads across Wales since 2021, with the aim of enhancing safety for various road users.
Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, Ken Skates, made a statement regarding the investment, confirming that work on delivering these improvements will commence in the current financial year. However, no specific timeline was provided for their completion.
The improvements will include the installation of new warning signs, road markings, and hazard marker posts, particularly at the summit of roads. The location for the new road safety improvements has been identified as the A494 at Clwyd Gate.
These measures are intended to warn drivers about people walking, cycling, and horse riding in the specific area, with the purpose of enhancing safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and horse riders, as well as drivers.
The road safety improvements at the A494 at Clwyd Gate are scheduled to take place from September 18 to October 6, 2025. The improvements are expected to contribute to a safer environment for all road users in the area.
