Enhanced Performance of INSA Slightly

The political landscape in Germany is showing signs of change, according to the latest INSA poll commissioned by "Bild" and conducted between October 23 and 26, 2020.

Olaf Scholz, the SPD candidate running as the chancellor candidate for the Red-Red-Green coalition in the next federal elections (Bundestagswahl 2025), has secured his position after being confirmed as the SPD chancellor candidate at a party congress in January 2025. The Red-Red-Green alliance, which includes the SPD, Alliance 90/The Greens, and The Left, currently stands at 39.5 percent.

The SPD has managed to maintain its value from the previous week, holding steady at 14.5 percent. However, Alliance 90/The Greens have seen a slight dip, losing half a point to reach 17.5 percent. The Left, on the other hand, has lost half a point, now standing at 7.5 percent.

The conservative CDU/CSU party, in a surprising turn, has gained half a point, reaching 26 percent. The far-right AfD has also seen a slight increase, gaining half a point to reach 12.5 percent. The FDP, meanwhile, has seen a slight decrease, falling to 6.5 percent.

Interestingly, a black-green coalition of CDU/CSU and Alliance 90/The Greens would currently suffice with a combined 53 percent. On the other hand, a grand coalition of CDU/CSU and SPD together reaches 50 percent. Other parties, including the Free Democrats (FDP) and smaller parties, collectively account for 6.5 percent (+1).

These shifts in the political landscape could have significant implications for the upcoming federal elections in 2025. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it will be interesting to see how these parties fare in the coming months.
