Emergency services in BPOLI face threats and insults from a 39-year-old individual; a criminal complaint has been filed

On the evening of August 18, 2025, an incident occurred at Halle Central Station that disrupted services on the S-Bahn network. At 19:27, smoke was reported in the roof area of a S-Bahn train, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

The S-Bahn train on track 2 was evacuated as a precautionary measure. Tracks 2/3 were closed due to the incident, causing delays and cancellations for several trains. Two trains were delayed by a total of eight minutes, and two others were partially cancelled.

The individual responsible for the disruption was identified as a 39-year-old German national. According to reports, the individual threatened firefighters with offensive words due to a family matter involving a child and a fire engine. The individual also reportedly insulted emergency personnel during the incident.

Officers from the Federal Police Inspectorate Magdeburg secured the scene and took the S-Bahn out of service for further investigation. The train was towed to the workshop for a thorough examination.

The emergency manager and fire brigade were alerted to the situation and responded promptly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
