Champions League 2025-26: A Season of Giants Colliding Early
The 2025-26 UEFA Champions League season is set to be an exciting one, with a new 36-team league format that encourages unpredictability and early encounters between footballing heavyweights.
Each club will play eight matches - four at home and four away - against opponents across four seeding pots. The top eight clubs will move directly into the round of 16, while the remaining teams will fight for their place in the competition.

Galatasaray's Champions League schedule also includes a home game against Liverpool at RAMS Park and visits to Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Villarreal, Club Brugge, and Union SG. The Turkish giants view their campaign as both daunting and promising.
Paris Saint-Germain, the defending Champions League champions, have been handed a tough draw, facing Bayern Munich, Atalanta, Tottenham, Newcastle, Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP, and Athletic Club.
Arsenal's road includes a clash with Bayern Munich at the Emirates and battles with Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, and Olympiacos.
Tottenham Hotspur's Champions League schedule includes matches against PSG, Dortmund, Villarreal, and Frankfurt.
Chelsea must contend with Barcelona, Bayern, Benfica, Atalanta, Ajax, and Napoli for the league phase.
Teams ranked ninth through 24th must survive a playoff to secure their place in the group stage. Smaller clubs are given stages against the elite in the Champions League league phase, providing an opportunity for underdogs to shine.
The bottom 12 clubs will be eliminated by January, ensuring a competitive and exciting league phase. The Puskas Arena in Budapest will crown the new Champions League champion by May 30, 2026. The league phase begins on Sept. 16-18, with match dates and kick-off times to be confirmed by Aug. 30.
