Electric automobile, Tesla Model Y, leads sales in Germany during Q3
In Q3 2022, the electric vehicle (EV) market in Germany saw a fierce competition among various manufacturers. The Tesla Model Y emerged as the number one best-selling Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) with 5642 registrations, according to data from the KBA.
The Tesla Model 3 followed closely in fourth place with 5100 registrations. The Fiat 500e, which was the top-selling BEV in Q2 2022, took third place with 5578 registrations. The Volkswagen ID4/ID5 ranked second with an impressive 5578 sales as well.
The Hyundai ioniq 5 had 3675 sales in Q3 2022, placing it seventh in the top 10, just below the BMW i3 with 3659 registrations. The Dacia Spring, a BEV from Romania, had 3949 registrations and secured sixth position.
The Audi Q4 e-tron and the Seat Born rounded out the top 10, with the Audi Q4 e-tron taking tenth place by a mere two registrations from the Seat Born, which had 3522 sales in Q3 2022.
The top 10 best-selling BEVs in Germany in Q3 2022 were separated by a close margin, with the gap between the seventh and tenth positions being only two registrations.

It's worth noting that the best-selling BEV in Romania in the third quarter of 2022 was manufactured by the brand Dacia.
